Last week, my Social Responsibility of Business teacher at Georgetown - Edward Soule - recommended to me to request an invitation and start using Google Voice. He knows that I am an avid Google fan (we talk about Google Wave changing the world a lot) and really thought I would like this application as well. He said it was “amazing” and that he had couldn’t believe how much he liked the product.
10 minutes later, I had requested an invite,
2 days later I received an invite and a new number,
and that same day I fell inlove with the product.
It’s essentially trying to make Voicemail more like E-mail (specifically GMail) and I think it will be very successful as soon as they can figure out a way to integrate it into the GMail interface (& I’m assuming that it will be embedeed in waves in the new Google Wave). So check out these videos, learn more about it and get your own account. Voicemail has never gotten so fun.
Looks like social media is truly helping to connect people and enabling them get what they want. Pretty cool to see in action. Glad you you like the program… I’m still intimidated and will wait until all you early adopters figure it all out for me.
